All About Energy

Energy medicine or healing is often considered “Whoo Whoo.” One definition of woo-woo is, “Unconventional beliefs regarded as having little or no scientific basis, especially those relating to spirituality, mysticism or alternative medicine.” Many people believe energy work has no scientific bases. My wife Marilyn works with environmental scientists, and when she emailed them about her sound therapy practice, no one acknowledged the practice. My guess is they think it is “whoo whoo.” Are they right?

Albert Einstein said, “Everything is energy and that’s all there is to it. Match the frequency of the reality you want and you cannot help but get that reality. It can be no other way. This is not philosophy. This is physics.” So basically, everything is frequency.

Nikola Tesla, a Serbian American inventor once said, “If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration.” Bruce Lipton in his book, The Honeymoon Effect: The Science of Creating Heaven on Earth says, “What quantum physics teaches us is that everything we thought was physical is not physical.” Darryl Anka, author of Blueprint for Change reiterates that with his words, “Everything is energy and that’s all there is to it. Match the frequency of the reality you want and you cannot help but get that reality. It can be no other way. This is not philosophy. This is physics.” Having taught science for many years, I know this to be true. All living things are really energy beings, so for me, healing with energy makes perfect sense.

In the article titled, How do we know everything is energy? it says, “…obviously movement is energy, sound (like our voices and music) is energy, and light and heat are energy . . . perhaps we can feel that thought is energy…Even when sitting still our bodies and everything inside them is in motion, from organs right down to the sub-atomic particles in our cells. Everything in our bodies vibrates, producing sound, and we constantly emit it even though most of it’s too tiny to hear. Our bodies also receive and respond to sound and all other vibrations of energy. The same can be said of light; though we don’t generally see the photons of light coming out of our tissues, they can be measured with instruments. And we don’t generally think about the light all around us going into our bodies and having effects from our psychology down to the communication of our particles.” Note that it says, ‘our bodies do respond to sound and all other vibrations of energy,’ so that is why sound baths can heal.

In the article, The Science of Human Energy Fields, it says, “The Science of Human Energy Fields and understanding the human condition is now starting to become the focus of more research as society begins to understand more about subtle aspects of our human condition and the nature of reality, resulting from advances in quantum physics, medicine, cellular biology, and the use of energy medicine to work with the physical body of our body-mind.” Science is now starting to recognize the effects of energy healing.

Rachel Naomi Remen, professor at the Osher Center of Integrative Medicine at the University of California says, “Healing may not be so much about getting better, as about letting go of everything that isn’t you – all of the expectations, all of the beliefs – and becoming who you are.? American singer-songwriter, Tori Amos, says “Healing takes courage, and we all have courage, even if we have to dig a little to find it.” Since I retired from teaching, I started facing my shadows, beginning a healing journey for me which indeed took a great deal of courage. Using ThetaHealing, I discovered many beliefs that limited me and kept me in fear, so yes healing is really “about letting go of everything that isn’t you.” That takes work, but it is well worth it.

Darryl Anka, who I referred to earlier, also said, “The energy you give off based on your beliefs… your emotions… your behavior… the vibrational frequency you give off is what determines the kind of reality experience you have… because physical reality doesn’t exist except as a reflection of what you most strongly believe is true for you. That is all that physical reality is. It is literally like a mirror? That’s saying we create our realities. The key to healing ourselves is changing our vibrational frequency to a higher frequency to attract better things. Healing yourself with help from the energy healing modalities we offer can help raise your frequency.

The Scientific American’s article, The Hippies Were Right: It’s All about Vibrations, Man! explains how “all things resonate at certain frequencies.” How to Raise Your Emotional & Spiritual Vibration is an article put out by the Chopra Center whose mission is “empowering personal transformation for our collective well-being.”  The article states “Love is one of the highest vibrating states of being (the fourth highest level on the Hawkins’ scale of consciousness) and has the power to pull you out of even the deepest of ditches.” Gary Zukav, author of four consecutive New York Times Best Sellers, says, “Eventually, you will come to understand that love heals everything, and love is all there is.” Love is a powerful healing energy.

I love quotes. Can you tell? I’ll finish with a quote from Barbara Marciniak, author of Bringers of the Dawn, who says, “Everything changes when you start to emit your own frequency rather than absorbing the frequencies around you, when you start imprinting your intent on the universe rather than receiving an imprint from existence.” Energy work will help those who want to heal themselves. Trust me, it’s true!
